Established: Originally established in 1942 as the Railway Service Commission, it was renamed Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in 1985.

Purpose: To conduct recruitment for various categories of staff in the Indian Railways, maintaining a Pan-India presence through 21 regional boards.

Key Recruitment Roles:
