IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test) is a primary assessment for non-native speakers, particularly popular for university admissions in the USA and Canada. It is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
2026 Updates (Post-Jan 21, 2026):
Shorter Duration:The test has been reduced to approximately 85–90 minutes (linear format has become adaptive).
New Scoring Scale:Shift from 0–120 to a 1–6 band scale, which aligns with CEFR levels. A 0–120 comparable score will still be provided for two years.
New Task Types:Includes “Complete the Words” (Reading), “Listen and Repeat” (Speaking), and “Build a Sentence” (Writing).
Structure:Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking, all aimed at academic, university-level English.
